My name is Peter I am a 33 year old London theatre technician, in 2012 I started messing around with antique pocket watch more out of curiosity than anything but I quickly discovered that I had a really good ability of getting them to work when they were supposedly broken? By this time I was hooked and I started looking in to Horology, what it was, what it meant and what it was about. The though of time and how it is measured amazes me but what grabs my attention more is the ways that people use technology to keep track of time. Today we can tell the time to the thousandths of a second with some thing no bigger than a fifty pence piece but that hasn't always been the case, in the early days of "reliable" time pieces it would take a skilled craftsman a great amount of time to hand make every single component of a complex and highly delicate watch or clock, these would also lose time over the course of a day if not correctly maintained.
